Over 20 years I have worked in the dental field and I can proudly state that I own a successful practice. I have learned many things about running a business over the years. There are also many things that don’t work. With this in mind, I offer the following 7 keys for running a successful company: They can be applied to any industry.

A clear vision is essential for any business. What are you looking to be known for? What type of clients would you like? What kind of service do your clients want? Are you looking to be “one of many” or a leader within your industry?
These and other questions will help you to determine the direction your business should take.
Once you have a clear vision, it is time to start planning. Many people don’t have a clear vision of the future, but fail to create a plan. It is important to take the time to plan out how you will achieve your goals.
Knowing your market is one of the most crucial aspects of any business. It is impossible to be everything to everyone. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone is your market. Marketing has a well-known saying: “If everyone’s your market, then nobody is your market.”
It is easier to target people and companies if you have a clear understanding of who they are.
