The
First "Holiday in Windsor Terrace" Celebration

Saturday
December 12th: The
first “Holiday in Windsor Terrace”,
a shop local campaign created by the Windsor Terrace Alliance
(WTA) in collaboration with the merchants of Prospect Park West,
was met with sunny skies, smiling faces, and a good dose of Brooklyn
cheer provided in part by Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz.
Chilly shoppers stopped by the WTA’s table for free hot
chocolate and to pick up a directory of the day’s free events,
discounts and menu specials at participating Prospect Park West

Missing
Menorah Rouses Community

On Sunday afternoon, about a dozen families gathered
by the parking lot at the Key Food supermarket in Windsor Terrace,
Brooklyn, to light a menorah in celebration of Hanukkah. Invitations
to the event said it was “the largest menorah” in
the neighborhood, and though considerable in size, it was still
three times smaller than the world’s largest menorah, which
stands not too far, at Grand Army Plaza, in Park Slope. By Monday,

for residents of the Kensington and Windsor Terrace
neighborhoods in Brooklyn, is best known for its posts about bouncy
seats for sale, nannies for hire, stoop sales and apartments for
rent. But on Sept. 3, an odd message landed in the electronic
mailboxes of the group’s 1,184 members: “Do you own
a black Sienna mini van parked on East Fourth Street?” someone
wrote. “Sorry to tell you, but your tires were ripped off

Linda
Woo Memorial Fund
May 24, 2008
On the morning of May 16th, 2008, beloved Kyung-Sook "Linda"
Woo, 63, who owned the Eden Dry Cleaners at 10th Avenue and Windsor
Place in Windsor Terrace, was found dead in her store. Mrs. Woo
had owned the shop for years after moving here from Korea and
used to live across the street with her family before moving to

Vanderbilt
Playground meeting with the Prospect Park Alliance

Prospect Park Alliance (PPA) presented their updated and probably
final plans for Vanderbilt Playground
to
a group at P.S. 154. The presentation was lead
by Prospect Park Alliance President Tupper Thomas and designer
Crystal Gaudio. They hope to have the design completed by August
2008. Construction is scheduled to begin during the spring of

Around 40 people attended tonight’s forum, including Assemblyman
Jim Brennan, Council Member Bill de Blasio, and representatives
from the Mayor’s office, the Dept. of Transportation, Dept.
of Parks. The meeting was hosted by of Community Board 7 and moderated
