The
Windsor Terrace Alliance (WTA)
was formed to give a strong voice to residents, community groups,
and businesses of Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn, on issues such as education,
traffic, appropriate residential and commercial development, neighborhood
beautification and quality of life. Our goal is to:
| • |
Identify
issues of concern to residents and work towards positive resolutions
of these matters |
| • |
Advocate
for changes that benefit the neighborhood |
| • |
Establish
a network to mobilize residents behind issues impacting the
neighborhood |
We
will be initially addressing the following issues:
| • |
Expanded
Education and Child Care: pushing for a new middle school
in or near the neighborhood and more day care |
| • |
Traffic
Safety and Parking: working towards implementation of traffic
calming measures and monitoring the potential impact on WT
of the proposed residential parking permits for residents
of Park Slope (this may be part of the congestion pricing
plan) |
| • |
Appropriate
Residential Development: monitoring new development throughout
WT to assure that it is in keeping with the scale of the neighborhood |
| • |
Environmental
Education: providing information on different environmental
programs such as choice of utility |
| • |
Neighborhood
Beautification: slotted for spring 2008 |
Service area:
The WTA covers the area from Prospect Park West on the west, Prospect
Park Southwest to Park Circle on the north, follows Ocean Parkway
and then Caton Avenue on the east, and to McDonald Avenue on the
south. Map
